Review: Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream

11:09 AM

I ordered the Missha Perfect Cover BB cream from a US based ebay seller a week ago so that's why I got this before the Skin79 Oriental. I chose the sample pouches just to try this brand. I received 5 pieces for $5-shipped (seller giftworldplus). One pouch gives me enough for three uses. I picked shade No. 23 because I believe this will match closely to my skin tone. It comes out dark but actually blends to a lighter shade once I spread it onto my skin.

Speaking of skin, my current type is dry. I don't know why all of a sudden I got this flaky. I used to be normal-combi. I can't figure out if it's because of the long winter we have (it's supposed to be spring already, right?) or the face washes I've used. I switched products so many times to see if anything would help.

Anyway, back to my review: As you can see, my dry skin picks up the creamy texture of Missha and because it's tinted, you can see the little flakes on my nose and upper lip. Luckily, no one really gets up that close to your face anyway. For coverage, I'd say it's light to medium. Even though you can still see red spots on my face, it does a good job evening out the skin tone. I know I don't have a before picture to compare but it made my pores less visible too. I say it's perfect for everyday coverage.

And now, face shots. WOW, I haven't taken self portraiture in a LOOONG time. I'm a little shy. Be nice! Ahaha. (Pics are straight out of camera, just cropped and watermarked for blog use.)

So here we have a shot with the flash on. I didn't add any bronzer (I don't have one anyway), concealer, powder or blush, just bb cream. I also took this about an hour after application. You can tell that I'm a little "dewy" as what bb creams do. I read about bb creams casting gray shades and I don't really know what they mean by that because this one looks okay to me, no gray anywhere, right? Or maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. My face also looks a shade darker than my neck... maybe I'll give No. 21 a shot to see if it matches better.

And here we have a no-flash shot. Looks matte, no?

In conclusion (naks, parang paper for school), I like it. And echoing what every one says, bb cream is this heavier type of a tinted moisturizer. For Missha Perfect Cover, it works alright on me. It evens out skin tone, has light-to-medium coverage, minimizes the appearance of pores, does not get yucky oily, and although it has a scent, it's very light that you won't even notice it upon application. I almost forgot, it has SPF 47! I know, odd number.

This is my first time testing a bb cream and Missha didn't disappoint. I wasn't WOWed like I expected to be but I am very much pleased. Except for my dry face, this enhances your complexion.

Moisturizer -> Tinted moisturizer -> BB cream -> Foundation.

I think that explains it.
